  • Pastor John Marshall and his wife Luanne

  • Shane Harkins

    Elder since 2012

Shane is a Casper native who joined the FBC family in 2007. He has been married to Charity since 2006 and they have two caring and adventurous boys. He is a mental health professional with a private counseling practice.

Shane’s profession as a counselor, as well as his role in the church, stems from his belief that true healing is available to everyone. At the start of Jesus' ministry, he quotes Isaiah 61, saying, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those that are broken...” (Luke 4:18). Shane is passionate about seeing this verse come to life, and walks alongside people as they seek to find healing for their broken hearts in Jesus.

  • Jim Fuhrer

    Elder since 2016

Jim and his wife Leanna came to FBC in 2012, and has been walking with the Lord for over 50 years. He has worked at the airport for the FAA for 35 years. Jim and Leanna have 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

Jim has been very involved in student ministry in the past, and recently has  focused on ministering in the area of marriage and families. He believes that marriage is so much more than a living arrangement for men and women, it is a model of Christ and the church. It’s much more for the benefit of our spiritual growth than for our happiness. Happiness results naturally, because as we grow in character toward God, we grow toward each    other. Jim’s life is inspired by 2 Chronicles 16:9 – “For the eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth to show himself strong for those who are wholeheartedly devoted to him.”  Jim wants to be found by God in that way.

  • Scott Gamble

    Elder since 2010

Scott is married to a wonderful woman, Laura for over 30 years. They have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Scott has lived in Casper for most of his life and has been a follower of Jesus for about 30 years. He and Laura became a part of FBC in 2008. Scott and Laura enjoy spending time at the lake and camping in the mountains.

Scott’s life and ministry are inspired by two of his favorite verses. Philippians 1:6 – “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will be faithful to carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ” and Galatians 5:22 – 23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,  forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Against such things there is no law.”

  • Kent Neubert

    Elder since 2010

Kent was born and raised inKansas and moved to Casper in 1983. Upon moving here, he began attending FBC, where he also met and married his wife, Jeanne. Together they have one daughter, Abby. He is a local dentist and has participated in dental mission trips overseas since 2001.

Kent’s ministry passion lies largely in the area of worship. His deepest desire is for FBC is to be a worshiping church - people who know the power of Christ and worship Him in a deep, true, and authentic way. He has served in the capacity of worship leading at FBC since the early 1990s, and God has used him to transition the church into the contemporary worship style we experience today.

He also longs for people to be engaged in the body of Christ using their unique gifts. When people are walking in their God-given gifts, the church is a beautiful picture of unity. Kent also has a heart for youth and spent many years serving in the youth group. He knows the importance of  having a strong youth program in the church in order to   engage the next generation in a meaningful, lasting way.

  • Michael Miller

    Elder since 2004

Michael Miller grew up in Denver and   began attending FBC in 2001. When the Board of Elders was formed at FBC in 2004, Michael was one of the original members. Michael is married to his incredible wife, Amy, and they have three teenage boys. Michael is a medical doctor who oversees the residents at the University of Wyoming Family Practice Residency Clinic.
In 2009, Michael and his family moved to Rwanda for 4 years to help improve health care opportunities in East Africa. He also serves on the Mission Team at First Baptist. He offers a unique perspective to both Elders and the Mission Team because of his experiences in Rwanda.

About us

First Baptist Church is a community of imperfect Christ-followers seeking to live out the adventure of God in our lives. We are growing in Christ together, living life together and unabashedly committed to Jesus' mission to reach the brokenhearted together.

The mission of First Baptist is to profoundly impact Natrona County, and the world, with the love and healing message of Jesus Christ. Our focus is twofold: to become fully engaged in the journey of spiritual maturity and to step fully into reaching the broken hearted.

First Baptist Church desires to fulfill and live out this mission through vibrant, authentic community, and a strategic plan that will impact our community and our world. We desire to intentionally engage this mission with an attitude of humility and an abundance of love and grace..
